Nonprofits First is introducing a NEW series to raise nonprofit boards from good to great! 

Becoming a Purposeful Board Leader: Finance, Resource Development and Board Operations 

This is PART 2 of a three-part series. If a nonprofit organization has a board representative at each session, their organization will receive a certificate of achievement for completing the course.

Each session and participant must register separately.

This is an IN-PERSON workshop offered FREE of charge thanks to the generous support of the Junior League of Boca Raton.

This second session will cover:

 - Understanding Financial Statements: Budgeting, Statement of Activities, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and audits.

 - Resource Development: The Board’s role in resource development/Culture of Philanthropy

 - Bylaws and Policies: How they guide board activity.

 - Board Composition: Terms, committees, and officer roles (Chair, Treasurer, Secretary).

 - Board Operations and Management:  Recruitment, onboarding, assessment and evaluation, meetings, and Roberts Rules of Order.


ABOUT THE PRESENTER 

Vicki Pugh is a seasoned nonprofit leader with deep expertise in board governance and organizational development. Throughout her career with institutions such as the New York City Opera, Carnegie Hall, YMCA, and the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, she has worked closely with boards to enhance their strategic focus and operational effectiveness. 

As CEO of Advancement Experts, Vicki regularly facilitates board meetings, retreats, and planning sessions, helping members strengthen their engagement and build a culture of accountability and purpose. She has held leadership roles on several boards, including Past President of Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, Vice President of the Holy Spirit Lutheran Church Council, and board member of Philanthropy Tank. She also served as President of the AFP Palm Beach County Chapter, where she was honored as Outstanding Fundraising Professional in 2019.
