Legal and Effective Interviewing equips supervisors, hiring managers, and HR professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct interviews that are both compliant and effective.
Participants will learn how to ask lawful, job‑related questions, avoid common legal pitfalls, and reduce the risk of discrimination or bias throughout the interview process. This program also focuses on best practices for evaluating candidates consistently and fairly, helping organizations make informed hiring decisions while protecting themselves from legal exposure.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Vanessa Coe is an attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County in the Non-Profit Legal Assistance Project where she focuses her time advising nonprofit agencies on legal issues in the areas of employment law, human resources, compliance and board governance. A graduate of Nova Southeastern Law and University of Florida, Vanessa started her career defending the rights of migrant and seasonal guest workers throughout Florida. Prior to joining the Non-Profit Legal Assistance Project, Vanessa acted as the employment attorney at Legal Aid litigating on behalf of low-wage workers in Palm Beach County.
